Dinner Dilemma

The Tuna Noodle Casserole that was almost tuna-less!!

Today, this was on the dinner menu....I went to find the can opener to open up the can of tuna and could not find it anywhere!!

I was certain that there was no way that I had misplaced the can opener....so of course Scott had put it somewhere it was not "supposed" to be. {he he he}

So, I went to my neighbor's (who is a bachelor) and found out he did not have a can opener either. His mother was there and she proceeded to open my two cans of tuna with a
BIG nail and a hammer and save the day, I went back home to finish preparing the casserole
**note to self** when I replace my lost can opener buy the neighbor one too

My husband then comes home from work and started emptying out his lunch box.

Before I could even explain to him the trials and tribulations that I went through this afternoon to make dinner,

He turns to me with the can opener {which he had taken out of his lunch box} and said,

"Hope you weren't looking for this today!! I was lazy and just brought the can opener to open my can of Spaghetti 'Os since it wasn't a pop top."

**Note to self**
Next week buy microwaveable Spaghetti 'Os
so the can opener does not disappear again!!
and still buy the neighbor a can opener in case mine
is misplaced AGAIN!!

Nanny's Scrapbook

Over the next couple days, I want to share the scrapbook I made for my Mom with pictures of Hayley growing up. My Mom {aka Nanny} has been watching Hayley since she has been 3 months old. I am so thankful and blessed that she is able to watch my kiddos because I am sure I would be more STRESSED if I had to rely on a "stranger" to watch them. Since Hayley has been born, she also watches my son as well as my 15-month old niece....so she is a BUSY lady!!!

I started this project ahem back in July and my initial thought was to give her the scrapbook right after Hayley started Kindergarten...well I guess giving it to her on Christmas Eve was acceptable. You know, being a Mom to two kiddos in extra curricular activities, a house to keep, and a full-time job.....my "extra" time is very limited!! LOL

Here are the first few pages......ENJOY. I had such a great time putting this together...it is so hard to believe that my "baby" is already 6!!! {where does the time go?????}

Hayley fell in love with her little Carter's
doll so Mom and I bought all of them UP!! She
has just ONE that is THE Rosie; however,
altogether she has probably 10 between our
house and my Mom's. I also have one in a bag
that has not been "touched"....Guess I can send
that one off to college with her! :)

more to come........

Happy New Year!!

So, this is my first post of 2010!!! For New Year's Eve we went to my brother's house and spend the evening with family and friends. The kids were so excited to stay up until midnight and see the ball drop. There was lots of food and spirits {although I stuck to coffee and coke!!}. Both Hayley and Brayden {as well as myself} were able to stay up until midnight and celebrate the beginning of 2010!! Hard to believe that it is already 2010...where does the time go??

Here is a picture of Hayley ringing in the New Year
Today we had Scott's family over for pork and sauerkraut for New Year's dinner. It is tradition in our family to have this meal to bring in the New Year and I just LOVE it and it is so easy to prepare!! :)

This weekend will probably consist of taking down the Christmas decorations and watching football!! GO EAGLES!!!! BEAT the COWBOYS!!! Sunday is going to be a stressful day in our house since I, {as well as Hayley & Brayden) am an EAGLES fan and Scott is a COWBOYS fan!!!
