Relaxing at the cabin

What wonderful time we are having here at the cabin. The weather is just absolutely beautiful and the kiddos are all playing so well together....as I am typing this, most everyone is having lunch and we will be heading to the park to "release some energy" later this afternoon. To just have one ounce of the energy these three kids have!! Last night we had smores over the fire...(which Hayley will probably not have tonight since she decided she wasn't going to be until way after midnight)...Corn roast for diner...YUMMM :) It is so relaxing and such a blessing to have this place to spend time with our family! I'm glad my kids will have the memories here that I had when I was growing up! Have a wonderful Labor Day!!

A day at Dutch Wonderland

Today, Lori and I took the kids to Dutch Wonderland. Hayley & Brayden had no idea we were going until we went to pick up Lori. It was such a GREAT DAY!!! The weather was beautiful and both Hayley & Brayden were very pleasant all day!
Brayden had a great time getting on rides. This is the first year that he was really "into it". Hayley, of course, loved the rides! She rode on a roller coaster for the first time and LOVED IT!! She was very proud of herself. There wasn't much we didn't ride on while we were there. About 2pm, we decided to go over to Duke's Lagoon. Hayley had a blast going down the slides....Brayden, however, wasn't as excited....so he and I just shared a blue raspberry slushy.
We left around 4pm...it didn't take long for both of my daredevils to fall asleep on the way home! It was a PERFECT DAY!!!

OVER

Wow...my work day is finally over. I worked today from 7:45 am until 8:30 pm...what a long day!! Scott had to go into work tonight as soon as I got home, so I am actually sitting here with nothing to do..and it feels wonderful! The kiddos are sleeping (thanks to bribing from me and their father. Hayley has been giving him a time putting her to bed before I get home on Tuesday nights so I told her this morning she would have a surprise if she went to bed but she would have to wait until Thursday) Lori and I are taking the kids to Dutch Wonderland on Thursday...and they have no idea!!! I am really excited and I am hoping that Brayden enjoys it more this year than he did last year...he was only 19 months old at the time..I'm keeping my finger crossed....I will add that thanks to Steve...we are getting the tickets for a little less than at the park since he has an in at the AAA....THANKS STEVE!!! Well, I better get back to watching the Olympics! Can't wait to post DW pictures!!

Picnic at the playground

Today I had a Monday off with the kids. We had pancakes for breakfast (thanks to Aunt Jemima!) Then to run a few errands...and then a SURPRISE picnic at the playground. The rain clouds rolled in and it looked as though we were going to get wet! We ate our lunch quickly..chicken nuggets....and then the kids were off to play. There were a few other picnickers when we arrived...but the tiny rain shower drove them away...so it was just me and the kids. They had a great time....Hayley said to me when we left, "It has been ages since we were here. Can you make sure we come back sooner next time"......

DANCE FEVER!!

Just wanted to share these cute pics of the kids dancing at my sister's on Thursday afternoon! Check out John Travolta aka Hayley.....

L-town Carnival 2008

On Wednesday night, we took the kids to the "Littlestown Interstate Fair" (as my husband calls it).
Nanny, Pop Pop, Aleasia, Hayley, Brayden, Scott, and I all ventured out for a night of carnival excitement. This was the first year Brayden was old enough to get on some rides. The kids had a lot of fun...especially after Aunt Lori showed up and got on some of the rides with them. One of their favorites was the big slide (that I of course didn't get any pics of !) Then Scott was determined to win a goldfish for our aquarium...after spending his $2 and not getting one, he decided to quit since he could buy one at the pet store for less than that. Well, Uncle Steve decided to take a try and he won one fish...then threw his next ball and it landed in the "Choice" cup, which meant 5 small fish, one larger fish, or a stuffed fish....Well, we now have two more fish in our tank thanks to Steve.
Then Aleasia and Hayley talked me into getting on the Scrambler...let's just say, I'm not as young as I used to be...and going in circles does weird things to your stomach...
To end the night Aleasia and Lori got on the WipeOut..Aleasia had a blast...and I am sure Lori did too! It was a great night!

Weekends just fly by!

Our weekend started out with all of us going to see Mandi, Rodney, & Madeline on Friday night. Hayley and Brayden were all excited to go to see their new cousin. They both just stood and stared at her while she slept. Mady slept most of the time and we had a great evening with everyone and did not leave until 10PM...of course, that is when Mady decided to wake up..

Hopefully Mandi and Rodney didn't have a long night!

Saturday we worked around the house a bit. Later in the afternoon, we went to Angie and Jimmy's house. The kids had a blast playing outside......until the thunderstorms rolled in. It hailed for at least 10 minutes..the kids thought it was snowing and wanted to go outside and play in it. Hayley, Brayden, Hannah, & Cody all played together. Little Cody is just starting to walk and was trying to keep up with the bigger kids. We had another late night and the kids were ready for bed when we got home. Sunday was more of the same! Painted basement doors....and the bookshelf (I definitely know I don't want to paint for a living! LOL) ...laundry...dishes....dinner....bathes...and soon to be BEDTIME!! Weekends always go so fast...but it is always a lot of fun spending it with family & friends!!
