Not Me Monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I do not rely on my 6-year-old daughter to translate what my almost 4-year- old son is saying since he talks so fast....No NOT ME....I can understand every word he says all the time!!

I was not one of those parents who just had to have a Zhu Zhu hamster for my daughter for Christmas...and I surely did not spend WAY too much (on EBAY) for ONE Zhu Zhu and I could not have bought 3 of them in February for the same price once they are found in the stores again...NOPE not me!!

I did not start going through all the toys in the playroom to make room for the new Christmas loot...and plead for my husband to PLEASE put the shelving in the closet that I have been asking for since the basement was done a year and a half ago....NOT ME (but I do now have shelving...and it only took 2 hrs and $48)

Ready for the snow

At 12PM we had almost 12 "

********and the snow is still falling.....falling.....and falling!!********

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow

So in Hanover, PA this morning...we woke up to 4 inches of snow..and now at 11am it is still going strong. Hayley is learning about measurements at school and yesterday cut out her "foot". She took her "foot" to measure the snow at our back door this morning and said, "Mommy, there is 4 FEET of snow already!!" Well it of course was only 4 inches...at this time I bet there is at least 7 inches out there.

measurement at
8 a.m.

This little bunny is in a pickle....he lives under our shed..and for some reason came out of his warm home to see what was going on...and couldn't get back under the shed {although he has about four holes out there to do so!!} Here is is looking in at me thinking, "It's cold out here... mind if I come in???"

We are having Scott's family over tonight for a get together as well as some friends from the neighborhood...hopefully everyone will be able to make it...or we are going to be eating ham for a WEEK!!!

The kids are excited to go out and play in the snow, which their father will be assisting since I would rather be laying on a beach somewhere....
love to see the snow...but would rather stay in my warm house!!!!

time for a short update

Wow...has it really been almost a month since I last posted. Where does the time go?? Here at the Marsh house...we are very busy getting ready for the holidays...I have tried in desperation a few times to get the "Holiday" picture of Hayley and Brayden. My last try was this past Sunday, when I decided around 6PM to try to get a picture...but then Hayley accidentally stepped on Brayden's foot and then Brayden's hand "accidentally" ended up hitting Hayley in the eye. So, after crying for 15 minutes and her eyes looking horrible...I decided against the picture. ahhhh

Last evening, a few girls from the Class of '91 had a little get together at Bill Bateman's. It was a great time seeing everyone and catching up a bit. I cannot believe that we are soon all going to be 37...and almost out of school for ahem 20 years!

I am going to end my short post today with a great picture of my parents and the grand kids from our family pictures we had taken by SJ ROTH Photography.

We had the pictures taken at Fuller Lake, which I had never been to before and it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! The day turned out to be really nice even though the morning was not looking promising! Then we went back to my sister Mandi's house and had a late lunch and watched the EAGLES beat the GIANTS!!! It was a GREAT day!! To bad it has to be over...and the work week begin tomorrow :(

Last night, we took Hayley and Brayden to Halloween in the Park @ Codorus State Park. It was a great time....the kids had a blast Trick-or-Treating in the campground. All the campsites were decorated for Halloween and there were a lot of original ideas out there...we went on a Hayride and saw the Loch Ness Monster of Lake Marburg {pretty scary stuff!!}. Both the kids got a lot of candy...now to do it all again tonight at my brother's house in East Berlin...we won't have to buy candy again until next Halloween!!!

Right before we went TOT...the picture is kind
of blurry...sorry :(

A day at the farm

Today was my company picninc. For the past 10+ years, we have had A&A's fall picnic at my coworker's family dairy farm. The kiddos just LOVE it...and it is very interesting to see how the "farm" works...plus we get to eat A LOT of FOOD!! yummmmm This year, Hayley and her daddy stayed home since she woke up this morning with a fever and complaining of a headache and belly ache {crossing our fingers that it is just a 24-hour thing!!}
Here's a pic of Winnie sleeping with Hayley this morning...she just loves her "people" and knows when they are not feeling well!

So, Brayden and I ended up spending the day together...just the two of us {and a bunch of my coworkers...and a few COWS!!} Brayden fed the goats cheese curls {which was a favorite activity for one of my supervisors who passed away two years ago from pancreatic cancer} Every year that we go, I think of her passing out cheese curls to all of the kiddos to feed those goats although, I am pretty sure they would eat just about anything you offered them. Here are some pics of Brayden feeding the goats.

Then we went on a hayride.....which again, Brayden thought was just
TOO MUCH FUN!

Here's a pic of the two of us on the wagon.
The kiddos then decorated pumpkins...and with a little help from Mommy...Brayden ended up with a very cute pumpkin! We did bring one home for Hayley the we will hopefully carve tomorrow night.

Then it was off to the barn where the cows go before they are milked

....let's just say that I KNOW I would not want to be a dairy farmer. They were allowing the kids to milk the cows by hand...but Brayden was not interested at all...he thought that the cows being milked by the mechanical milker...was good enough for him.

We got to go see some "baby" cows....and I took a picture of this cute little brown and white cow...{wonder if she will produce chocolate milk???

It was such a BEAUTIFUL day for a picnic and too be with friends and their families. The day was also very bitter sweet, since Dr. Lanpher always attended this function...and who would have ever thought that 2008 would be his last A&A picninc. There are still days that I cannot believe that he is gone......in my 15 years working for his practice...I would have never thought that I wouldn't have seen him actually retire...55 is way to young..but he would have wanted us to keep going strong.

On the way home, Brayden and I saw this hot air balloon, so as I was driving I took a picture...what a beautiful day!!!

Handy Manny and the Lady Bug

Today we went to a children's Halloween Party. Brayden had wanted to dress as Handy Manny and Hayley didn't have a choice wanted to be a lady bug {thanks to her tap costume from the summer's dance recital!!} Don't they just look too cute??

So after a day of playing games and costume judging {they didn't win anything :(} We have a bowl full of candy...and we have not even been trick or treating yet!!!

Marsh family happenings...

So, for the past few weeks I have been very bad keeping up with this blog!! I am either having some type of writers block...or just not enough "excitement" in my life to blog about!! Over the past three weeks here is a synopsis of what has happened in the Marsh household!!

*painted the bathroom last week and Scott tiled it....it looks sooo nice

*Brayden had preschool pictures taken on Tuesday {yes, in a shirt that had to have a character on it. So, Woody and Buzz Lightyear it was!!

*Chaperoned a field trip with the Kindergarten class to the pumpkin patch. I had a great time and actually had 5 very cooperative 5 year olds....

TWilight saga
*Oh...I read ALL FOUR Twilight Series books {in three weeks :) }....and I have gone to the DARK SIDE!! I am sooooo TEAM Edward.....and my heart skips a beat every time I see a shiny silver Volvo {he he he} I am counting down the days until November 21st when some girls from our playgroup go to see the movie!!!! Now I have to be reading a book at all times...I have finished two since finishing the Twlight books...and am currently reading My Sister's Keeper..

*scheduled family pictures for last weekend to be taken outside...which then ended up being a WASH OUT for most of the weekend (rained from Thursday to early Sunday morning)...well wouldn't you know that after I canceled the pictures {since I had 13 people and 4 families to coordinate with....the sun actually came out in PA and about 4pm would have been a PERFECT time a picture....so we have rescheduled for Nov. 1st...and hopefully..

a) there will still be leaves on the trees

b) It is NOT raining!!

*Last Saturday we celebrated my grandfather's 75th birthday!! What a great time....and sooooo much food. I am so blessed to have all of my grandparents around to watch my kiddos grow....

I LOVE MY FAMILY!!

*Saturday night...we hung out in my brother's "redneck basement" as he calls it. It is really cute....just doesn't have dry wall on the walls...but they have it very homey!! We then played Rock Band...and I was so tickled to hear Hayley and A sing 70 & 80s songs.....oh, and I REALLY like playing the guitar!!

*Yesterday was Our 14th Wedding anniversary!! Wow...it has really been that long {actually we have been together for 17 years...but who is counting???} He has been out of town since Sunday night...and we are looking forward to him returning today!!

*Hayley has her first School Pictures today!! She is soooo excited....we are also supposed to go to the Park @ 9:45 {so I better get off of here soon}....and then drop Brayden off @ preschool...Hayley to the bus stop...and then I will have my niece M for a little this afternoon while my Mom goes for her mammogram.....fingers are crossed that it all comes back within normal limits!!!

Alright...well I better go get some stuff done if I am going to make it to the park by 9:45 and back by 11 to feed the kiddos lunch...and then back out by 11:45 to take Brayden to preschool...and then back home to get Hayley on the bus by 12:30...and then home to make an apple pie for my Stampin UP party tonight....going going going....busy busy busy...but love it!!

its been awhile.....

It has been quite awhile since I updated my blog...just been really busy and haven't had time to post anything...besides, I am also reading the Twilight Series...and any extra time I have is spent with my nose in a book! Seriously...they are very good...and I cannot wait to see New Moon on 11/21/09 when the Playgroup I am a member of goes to see it for MNO!!! This past week, I had off and was home with my kiddos since my Mom and Dad took a well deserved vacation of their own. The kids really missed her {as did I} especially when last Monday I had to take Hayley, Brayden, and Mady to the pediatrician's since Hayley was complaining of an ear ache...and low and behold, she had an ear infection!! She is feeling much better now...but still has four days of antibiotics to take!

The rest of the week flew by fairly fast...and I have decided that I get a lot more done when I do work during the week since I have such a routine of what gets done when during my work week...I kinda just felt out of sorts. Friday night we surprised the kids and took them to see Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs....they LOVED it...I thought it was OK...but didn't think that it was worth the $26 it cost us to see it {but actually what movie ever would be...except possibly New Moon {he he he}....but the kiddos liked it and that is all that mattered. We then went to Lowe's for Scott to look at some supplies for a job he has to do..while he was looking I took Brayden over and started looking at paint colors for the living room...I wasn't planning on painting the living room....but Saturday morning I woke up with the itch. So I sent Scott back to Lowe's to get the paint...and then we painted and painted and painted...until we ran out of paint
with only a 1/4 of a wall left to paint!! AGHHH...

so I sent him back to Lowe's for more paint...and then it was done {Thank goodness} It looks WONDERFUL!!

We are very pleased with how the color turned out; however, the color looks a lot like the color of our basement...oh well....here are some pictures {especially for my Nana who gave us the red couch that looks absolutely gorgeous with the new pillows and wall color...Thanks Nana!!}

I just love it!!

Winnie had to be in the picture too!!

Hayley's first day of Kindergarten......

Hayley was so excited for her first day of school. So on Wednesday 8/26/09, she rode the big yellow bus for the first time. Scott, Nanny, and I all met at the bus stop to see her off. There were MANY other kindergartners waiting at the bus stop for afternoon Kindergarten. When the bus came, she was off and running and didn't look back. She got on that bus so fast, that I wasn't even able to get a picture :(
{Oh, and I will add not a tear was shed by anyone!! :)}

After I got home from work, she was anxious to tell me about her day. She said she made a lot of new friends...went out for recess for a whole 10 seconds (LOL)....and did a craft. I asked if she wanted to go back the next day...and she said "YES!!!!"

I am so glad she likes school {for now}....my little girl is GROWING up!!

Hayley's dressed in ALL PINK

waiting on the bus.......

Getting on the bus...if you look closely...you can see Scott in a white shirt..waiting with her to get on the bus...but I was too slow getting across the street to get her picture getting on the bus!
