Brayden's Big Boy Bed

Today Brayden got his Big Boy Bed...and he is soooo excited about it!! He got a new comforter from his Grammy at his birthday party yesterday (post to come soon on the party) and of course it is CARS!!

Here are a few pics of Brayden sitting on his new bed.

Brayden decided he wanted to take some pics
of all of us

Hay Hay

and of course Winnie....she likes his bed
a lot too!!

Hard to believe my little boy is in a BIG bed.....Scott tore down the crib/toddler bed and stored it away...we are keeping it because it does also turn into a double headboard (for sometime in the future)....so I have packed up all the crib sheets that I was holding onto as well as a few blankets to give away. Seems like just yesterday he was a wee babe sleeping in his crib in our room....where does the time go?

repost of the princess room

I am reposting this entry from February 2009 to participate in

ENJOY!!!

A few weeks ago, I started painting Hayley's room. Of course, she wanted it to be {PINK}. There are two different colors of pink and white chair molding dividing the two colors.

Hayley's Room

Window and Bookcase

I took an old Disney Princess calendar and made wall hangings to put on her walls. I think they turned out pretty good...She absolutely loved them...and that is all that matters! The picture to the right she colored herself and her Nanny framed it for her.

Her bed is the day bed Mandi & I used when we shared a room while growing up...Yeah, it is that old!! My bed was actually a trundle that fit underneath the bed...here is a closer look at her bed spread and walls.

Well, the next room to be painted will be Brayden's and he wants his room to be CARS .

I will hopefully be able to get this done within the next few months.....I of course will post pictures as soon as I get it done....but I wouldn't wait around holding your breath!!

Five Question Friday

My Little Life
Its my favorite day, Friday!! Click the picture above to link up and play along with Mama M. If you don't have a blog I'd LOVE it if you left YOUR answers in my comment section. :)

1. What is better, growing old with out money or dying young and wealthy?
better? I would have to say dying old without money....who wants to die young??

2. Who takes out the garbage at your house?
Scott....and now Hayley helps him collect the bathroom garbage as part of her weekly chores.

3. Have you ever had the same dream many times?
Yes... I have two recurring dreams.
1} I am trying to put in my contact lenses and they are about the size of a 50 cent piece.
2} I am back in high school{aghhhh) and cannot remember the combination to my locker or where my next class is.....the funny thing is, we never had lockers that "locked" in high school

4. Can you play a musical instrument? I took piano lessons when I was younger....I could possibly play a little....but it wouldn't be pretty!! :)

5. If you owned your own store, what would you sell? Scrapbooking supplies!!!

Dance Recital

On Sunday, I was finally able to work on a scrapbook page. So in between making dinner, kiddos, laundry, and cleaning....I was able to finish it....and I am very happy with it. I had "lost" these pictures 2 times previous {I have a little problem with putting things places where they are safe...and then forgetting where that "safe" place is}. After I found them for the 3rd time...I thought that it would be a good idea to actually put them on paper!!!

Righty or Lefty??

So, yesterday I bought both the kiddos workbooks. Brayden, one to learn to write his letters and Hayley, one to learn addition and subtraction. Well, Brayden was only on the first page of his book...and he was DEFINITELY not into it!! He gets very frustrated!! My other dilemma with him is we do not know if he is left or right-handed.....we are both right-handed and trying to teach him with his left hand is very awkward for us. He draws with both hands...so it is a little hard to figure him out. He will be 4 in a few weeks...and he cannot write his letters, which is a concern for me since I know that Hayley was writing by now. I know that I shouldn't compare them...but at this point, I just do not think he is ever going to get it! As far as Hayley, she has been working on her workbook nonstop...and OH does she get upset when she cannot figure out the problem!! This morning, she was only up 5 minutes before she opened the book and started working. She has been up since 8:30 and it is now 9:30 and she is still going strong (even forgetting to take a minute and eat her breakfast!!) The differences between boys and girls!!!

Dinner Dilemma

The Tuna Noodle Casserole that was almost tuna-less!!

Today, this was on the dinner menu....I went to find the can opener to open up the can of tuna and could not find it anywhere!!

I was certain that there was no way that I had misplaced the can opener....so of course Scott had put it somewhere it was not "supposed" to be. {he he he}

So, I went to my neighbor's (who is a bachelor) and found out he did not have a can opener either. His mother was there and she proceeded to open my two cans of tuna with a
BIG nail and a hammer and save the day, I went back home to finish preparing the casserole
**note to self** when I replace my lost can opener buy the neighbor one too

My husband then comes home from work and started emptying out his lunch box.

Before I could even explain to him the trials and tribulations that I went through this afternoon to make dinner,

He turns to me with the can opener {which he had taken out of his lunch box} and said,

"Hope you weren't looking for this today!! I was lazy and just brought the can opener to open my can of Spaghetti 'Os since it wasn't a pop top."

**Note to self**
Next week buy microwaveable Spaghetti 'Os
so the can opener does not disappear again!!
and still buy the neighbor a can opener in case mine
is misplaced AGAIN!!

Nanny's Scrapbook

Over the next couple days, I want to share the scrapbook I made for my Mom with pictures of Hayley growing up. My Mom {aka Nanny} has been watching Hayley since she has been 3 months old. I am so thankful and blessed that she is able to watch my kiddos because I am sure I would be more STRESSED if I had to rely on a "stranger" to watch them. Since Hayley has been born, she also watches my son as well as my 15-month old niece....so she is a BUSY lady!!!

I started this project ahem back in July and my initial thought was to give her the scrapbook right after Hayley started Kindergarten...well I guess giving it to her on Christmas Eve was acceptable. You know, being a Mom to two kiddos in extra curricular activities, a house to keep, and a full-time job.....my "extra" time is very limited!! LOL

Here are the first few pages......ENJOY. I had such a great time putting this together...it is so hard to believe that my "baby" is already 6!!! {where does the time go?????}

{Rosie}
Hayley fell in love with her little Carter's
doll so Mom and I bought all of them UP!! She
has just ONE that is THE Rosie; however,
altogether she has probably 10 between our
house and my Mom's. I also have one in a bag
that has not been "touched"....Guess I can send
that one off to college with her! :)

more to come........

Happy New Year!!

So, this is my first post of 2010!!! For New Year's Eve we went to my brother's house and spend the evening with family and friends. The kids were so excited to stay up until midnight and see the ball drop. There was lots of food and spirits {although I stuck to coffee and coke!!}. Both Hayley and Brayden {as well as myself} were able to stay up until midnight and celebrate the beginning of 2010!! Hard to believe that it is already 2010...where does the time go??

Here is a picture of Hayley ringing in the New Year
Today we had Scott's family over for pork and sauerkraut for New Year's dinner. It is tradition in our family to have this meal to bring in the New Year and I just LOVE it and it is so easy to prepare!! :)

This weekend will probably consist of taking down the Christmas decorations and watching football!! GO EAGLES!!!! BEAT the COWBOYS!!! Sunday is going to be a stressful day in our house since I, {as well as Hayley & Brayden) am an EAGLES fan and Scott is a COWBOYS fan!!!
